Columbia Cty., GA--

The second of two women involved in a deadly 2006 crash in Columbia County will be in prison for the rest of her life.

A jury found Denise "Nebula" McNeely of Augusta guilty of several charges, including murder, feticide and running from police.

McNeely is a career crimiinal who's been in Georgia prisons many times since 1986. She was the passenger in a car that crashed into a family at Washington Road and Bobby Jones.

Three people in the other car, including an unborn child, were killed.

Earlier, the driver, Tiara Smith, was found guilty of many of the same charges. She's serving life without parole also.

The crash is also the subject of a lawsuit against the Columbia County Sheriff's office in a dispute over whether officers were actually chasing the women when they ran a red light and hit the family.

The women were wanted for shoplifting from a store. The civil lawsuit has not been tried yet.

I'm glad the police and school officials did this. I brought my daughter to school Friday morning and wondered what was going on. My daughter just said they probably were having a weapons search, like the do a few times a year. I had no idea that it had to do with a gang affiliation and a child getting shot in my community earlier. I'm glad that the police take these kinda things seriously. My daughter had told me about the saying on the bathroom wall but, I just thought it was something between two students, kids are always getting mad at each other over something, which most of it is petty things, like friends and boyfriends, girlfriends, and who said what to who gossip type to stuff. I guess that's the things too that could fuel this kind of fire if parents don't watch and listen to their kids. I listen to my daughters conversations when I think there might be trouble. I get involved at that point threating to call police and pressing charges and usually it will disperse itself.

Question? How do you go to jail for life for being the passenger of a car involved in an auto accident?
