Columbia Cty., GA--
From Crime Team 12, Columbia County deputies are looking for a dangerous criminal who put a gun to the head of a Subway worker and demanded money Thursday night.
It happened around 9:00 pm at the Subway at 3821 Washington Road in Martinez.
The sheriff's report says the female worker was taking out the trash behind the restaurant when the robber came up behind her. He had a gun and pushed her back into the restaurant. He demanded money from the register, which she gave him, and then the robber demanded money from the safe. The worker told him she couldn't open the safe, but the robber kept pointing the gun to her head. He finally left out the back. The worker was not injured.
Other deputies set up a perimeter around the store and a K-9 unit was called in to try to find the robber. However, that search was unsuccessful.
