Augusta, GA--

A pedestrian was stuck in front of the Alumni Center on the MCG campus in Augusta Thursday morning.

Deputies say she was a Laney High School student, and they say she was jaywalking across 15th Street between the Alumni Center and the downtown V-A Medical Center.

Officers say the pedestrian had minor scrapes and no one was cited.

In March, an MCG graduate student was struck and killed by a city bus while crossing the intersection at 15th and Laney Walker Boulevard.
Since then, MCG Public Safety officers have been helping pedestrians across that intersection. They have also issued jaywalking tickets in the area.
