Columbia Cty., GA--
The Columbia County School Board is looking at raising prices for school lunches next year.
The proposal is a 50-cent hike in elementary lunches and 25 cents for middle and high schools.
That would make all lunches $2.25
The Board is also looking to hire 30 new teachers and 15 other staff members, mainly to staff the Stalling Island Middle School.
Supt. Charles Nagle also recommending dipping into some reserves to help avoid a millage hike.
The Board will have another budget session next week, and the final proposal will probably be adopted in June.
