Aiken County AYP Scores

Aiken County gets a good report card for the fifth straight year from the state Department of Education. 2004’s Adequate Yearly Progress report dropped slightly for Aiken County. They got a good rating, but several individual schools declined.

First the schools that were rated the top score of excellent: Aiken Elementary, Millbrook Elementary, Aiken High, North Augusta High and Silver Bluff High Schools.

These schools were rated below average: Ridge Spring-Monetta Elementary, A.L. Corbett Middle, Leavelle McCampbell Middle and Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle Schools.

Aiken County’s charter schools continue to not meet the standards: Lloyd-Kennedy Charter was rated unsatisfactory and Midland Valley Prep School was rated below average.

The standards were tougher to meet than in 2004. They more than doubled in difficulty and this is the first year science and social studies scores have been added.
