MACON, Ga. (AP) -- A Dublin businessman has died after he was hit
by a car while riding an all- terrain vehicle in middle Georgia.
Johnson County Coroner Russell Dixon says 42-year-old Eric Rawls
was taken by ambulance to Swainsboro, where he was airlifted to a
Savannah hospital but died on the way.
Rawls was riding with his son and a friend in Wrightsville about
2:15 p.m. Sunday when they came out of the woods near mile marker
10 on Ga. 15 South. Dixon says the three were getting ready to
cross back onto the friend's property on the other side of the
highway when the accident happened.
Dixon says Rawls pulled into the road to check for traffic
before letting the others cross and was hit by a car cresting the
hill.
A radio operator at the Swainsboro post of the Georgia State
Patrol says the agency is investigating the accident.
