GREER, S.C. (AP) -- Thirty wounded military veterans are skidding
around BMW's high-performance driving course in a bid to leave
their hospitalizations behind and have some fun.
BMW driving instructor Mike Renner says the veterans will power
their luxury vehicles through a special road course Monday at the
BMW driving school near Greer.
Some of the cars have been retrofitted with hand grips and other
controls so vets who have lost the use of their legs can hone their
driving skills.
The event was organized to give the servicemen a break from
their recovery.
