Fire at Clearwater Finishing Plant

CLEARWATER, SC--Five fire departments responded to a fire at the Clearwater Finishing Plant Friday night. The Finishing Plant is at the corner of Highway one and Belvedere-Clearwater Road.

The fire broke out Friday night around 6:45. Firefighters were at the scene for hours trying to get the flames out and control the black smoke that could be seen from miles. Firefighters from Langley, Clearwater, Belvedere, Bath and Aiken County Fire Departments were at the scene.

Nobody was injured.

    @LadyLuck You do know that the guy that compiled that video got fired right? "Those Boys" were just there, they didn't do anything. Make sure you know what you're talking about before you make a comment. Thanks.

    I live not even two miles away from the CFP. I live right next to the Bath Fire Dept. It was weird seeing all that smoke everywhere in the air. It was also even weirder because it was only 2 weeks after that terrible tornado!

    I hope those boys on the You Tube video are caught. Then the police may learn the whole story of the fires at the plant. As for the Chief of CLearwater , check out the numerous times he has been taken to court for various crimes.

    I think its time for a new Chief for Clearwater Fire Department. This one seems to want all the GLory and not do things by procedure.

    I would like to say thanks to the Chief for waisting many peoples time by deviating from the response plan developed for the plant. Not only once, but twice in one week! I would have thought he would have learned his lesson from Friday. The fire could have been controlled alot sooner had he not tried to be the "Hero" and fight the fire by himself.

    I would like to say thanks to all area firefighters for risking there lives every day to save ours they do not receive the thanks that they deserve i know first hand my father is the cheif at clearwater f.D so again show support you never know it could be your life or home they save next!
