AIKEN, S.C. -- The Aiken Department of Public Safety is looking for a bank robber after an incident on Beaufort Street Tuesday afternoon.

Officers say the man entered the South Carolina State Credit Union through the back door, approached the teller and demanded money.

The robber is believed to drive a red or burgundy 1980 or 1990 model Ford Tempo.

He is described as a black male in his 30s with a medium build, is between 5'10" and 6' tall and weighs 220 to 225 pounds. The robber was last seen wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, light-colored pants, white sneakers and a black toboggan hat. He covered his face with a gray T-shirt during the robbery.

If you have any information, call Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC. Callers will remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.

The same bank was hit in September when a thief gave the teller a note saying, "Give me all your money." He indicated he had a gun but did not show any weapon. Read more here.
