AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A Richmond County mother was arrested this week and is charged with cruelty to children.
Octavias Yvonne Robinson, 32, was arrested on Monday.
Investigators say Robinson's 14-year-old son was sent home from school for disciplinary reasons. She allegedly started beating him with a leather belt and spanking him with it at 8:30 a.m.
Her son was later found running behind the Walmart on Deans Bridge Road in his boxer shorts. Deputies found him and noticed he had bruising on his back, legs and arms.
Robinson is charged with cruelty to children in the first degree.
