Augusta, Ga. --- Business is booming on Washington Road and everywhere near The Augusta National. Somewhere In Augusta Bar and Grill, moved into their new location on Washington Road just a week before Masters. Matt Kolinoski said they've exceeded expectations.
"We went from grand opening to Masters. So it's been awesome," Matt Kolinoski said.
And busy doesn't even describe their crowds. With 40 HD TV's inside, lots of people were gathered around watching the Masters tournament. And they've had a variety of customers, both locals and Masters patrons.
"Good patrons. We've had some golfers come in. We've also had some NFL players come in. And some of the bands that we've booked, have had overwhelming great response," Kolinoski said.
And with large crowds come big sales.
"If we can continue this progress throughout the whole year, it will be great. I know the numbers have been fantastic," Kolinoski said.
And they've been packed almost every night. Also cashing in, Bistro 491. They're describing the week as throwing a party for 2,000 people.
"For us, we're so centrally located it's been great," Todd Schafer said.
They're located in Surrey Center off of Berckmans Road, right down the road from The Augusta National.
"Oh it's huge. For us, it's like six weeks of business in one week. That's big," Schafer said.
They said it's a lot of work and a lot of fun, serving about 300 people a night for 8 days straight.
"Everybody has high energy. There's money rolling around. Everybody's on vacation, so it kind of has that feel," Schafer said.
