BARNESVILLE, Ga.---The man who admitted killing a Georgia hiker earlier this year says he doesn't want to go to Florida to face murder charges in a similar case there.
Gary Hilton is fighting extradition. A judge in Barnesville has given him 20 days to file a legal challenge.
Hilton is now at the Georgia Diagnostic Prison in Butts County. He was sentenced to life for killing Meredith Emerson after meeting her on a hiking trail.
Authorities in Leon County, Florida have indicted him in the death of another hiker in a National Forest near Tallahassee.
Hilton is also a suspect in the deaths of two other people in North Carolina.
