Credit Report Block:
Folks in South Carolina will soon be able to put a free block on their credit reports. It's an effort to keep them from becoming another victim of identity theft. The new law is effective December 31st. It will allow people to free their credit, which blocks any new loan or credit card from being approved. Then, you can temporarily unfreeze it to add or open new accounts. The law also requires companies to let customers know when a security breach exposes their personal information.
Traveling Couple In Town:
One South Carolina couple is taking their cause to the streets, by walking across the U.S. Today, they're making a stop in Augusta. Ed and Liz Morgan are walking from Isle of Palms, S.C., to Seaside, Oregon. Once they get here, they'll have already walked the first 181 miles of their trip. The couple's making the trek to raise money for the Association of American Indian Affairs.
