Flooding in Claxton

Claxton, GA--

Parts of Claxton in southeast Georgia have been flooded after torrential rains Thursday.

Seven inches of rain fell in three hours.

A spokeswoman for the Claxton Police says at least four houses were flooded. Some of the town's streets were also flooded. Police were
stationed on some streets to prevent people from trying to drive on them.

Claxton is along Highway 25-301 in Evans County.
