AUGUSTA, Ga.---Richmond County deputies say a man was robbed and shot in the neck outside a Peach Orchard Road bank at mid-morning. His boss says it wasn't the first time he was held up outside a bank.

It happened at the Georgia Bank and Trust near the Post Office Branch in the 3100 block of Peach Orchard.

The victim, 60-year-old David Harris was taken to MCG Hospital, and is in serious condition.

His boss says he's a joy to be around.

"His favorite saying anytime he leaves you is, 'You just have more fun than you can stand,'" said Maxine Lariscy, Harris' boss.

Harris works for Maxine at a local nightclub, Fantasy's Showgirls, as well as a bar called Greene's Street Spirits. He was taking a deposit to the bank for her when he was shot.

Deputies think two men were involved in the crime and ran away afterward.

Lariscy doesn't know why one of the men shot him, since he was trying to give the money, but she does know this isn't the first time someone's robbed him.

"He wasn't shot the first time but it was the same incident. He was held up at the same place," Lariscy said.

Maxine says its hard to consider it a coincidence. She doesn't know if the same people are responsible, but she believes someone was plotting the crime.

"I think someone planned it. Whoever these two guys are, I think they knew the routine," she said.

Lariscy's glad the robbers didn't even get any money, and now she's just praying for her co-worker and friend.

"Someone shot another human for money...and there's no life in the world worth any money," she said.
