Evans house fire

EVANS, Ga.---There was extensive damage Tuesday afternoon after a house fire at 4053 Mullikin Rd. in Evans.

Martinez-Columbia firefighters weren't sure how it started. The family was not at home at the time.

Firefighters told News 12 there's extensive damage to the attic, along with water and smoke damage in the lower level.

A maintenance crew was working at the house when the fire started, but investigators don't know if they caused it.

Part of Mullikin Rd. was blocked for awhile, but the road is open now.
