Severe storms hit Columbia County
Strong winds hit Columbia County
Columbia County EMS reports says no funnels were reported though power lines and trees are down in several areas.

Trees are down in the following locations: (Roads & Bridges crews are getting to these areas as quickly as possible.)

Story Drive
Mistletoe Road
North Columbia Elem.
Tubman Road @ Old Washington Road
5800 Block of Hereford Farm Road
Highway 150 @ Pollards Corner
900 Block of Big Oak Circle
Clanton Road @ Washington Road
Ray Owens Road

Power lines are down in several areas. These are being secured by deputies until Georgia Power crews can get on scene. Isolated areas of power outages have been reported throughout the county.

The occupants of the mobile home who were trapped when trees fell on their home are out...and are reported to be okay.

No funnels were reported on the ground in Columbia County during the storm.

In Columbia County, the worst of the storm hit in the rural part of northern Columbia County, causing numerous downed trees. The fire department reports that trees are down on Ray Owens and Crawford Place Roads for as far as you can see. Roads & Bridges has a list of all roads where trees are down and are working hard to remove them from roadways. With so many, it will take a while to get around to all locations.
