AUGUSTA, GA---A 13th person has died as a result of February's explosion at the Imperial Sugar refinery in Savannah.

The Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta reported Friday that a patient had died. The center did not release the name of the deceased, citing a request from the family.

A total of 13 people have now died from the blast. Eight people died at the refinery; five people died at the burn center.

Ten patients are still being treated at the Still Burn Center; six are in critical condition and four are in serious condition.

On Thursday the head of the U.S. Chemical Safety Board told Congress snow-like accumulations of industrial dust were reported at the sugar refinery and proper housekeeping probably would have prevented the blast.
