Augusta, GA---News 12 first told you CADI's are coming to downtown Augusta. They'll be riding segways. It's not about golf. C.A.D.I. stands for Clean Augusta Downtown Initiative. A 4 man safety team is training to take to the streets on the segways. They cost about $5,000 each. The city is starting out with 2. They each can get up to 12 miles per hour. Organizers say it's an effort to keep you safe. "We're trying to promote downtown more, and help it to grow and be a better place to come and enjoy yourself." Local business owners self-imposed a tax that will raise 400,000 dollars every year for the next 5 years. Those segways will start hitting the streets of Augusta around the grand opening coming up in late March of 2008.
