North Augusta, SC--

North Augusta police want Armando Hernandez for charges related to a February 23 crash on Atomic Road involving two vehicles.

He's being accused of leaving the scene of an accident, resulting in death. That's a felony carrying up to 25 years in prison.

Police say Hernandez has ties to this area, but may have fled to metro Atlanta. Police there and the Immigration Service have joined the manhunt.

Gregario Cruz-Carachure was pronounced dead afer the wreck. He was the driver of a Ford Expedition and one of two men found lying in the road after the accident. The other man spent several days at MCG Hospital with injuries.

Police believe Hernandez was driving a Ford F-150 pickup that sideswiped the Expedition. Two other men with him were arrested on crack cocaine charges and went to the Aiken County jail.
