Severe Storms Threaten CSRA

Augusta, Ga--

Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening as a strong cold front moves across the region. Scattered thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the cold front this afternoon and evening. Some of the storms may become severe producing damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. Storm Prediction Center has the CSRA in a moderate risk for severe weather through the afternoon. The concern is the potential for a dry slot to wedge in and allow for some heating at the surface thus increasing the instability factor. Stay tuned to News 12 and wrdw.com for the latest updates.
