Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue has endorsed Arizona Senator John McCain for President.

Perdue made the announcement in Washington, where he's been attending a governors meeting.

McCain has all but locked up the GOP nomination, even though he finished second to former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee in the Georgia Republican primary.

Perude will host a $1,000 per-person fundraiser for McCain in Atlanta Thursday.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
