WINDER, Ga.---A car being chased by police smashed into another car in Barrow County Sunday night. Both drivers were killed.

Police say the driver of a Chevy Camaro was running 100 miles an hour and passing other vehicles. The officer slowed down just before the Camaro driver hit a Dodge Neon head-on.

Both drivers were pronounced dead. Three other people were hurt.

The Georgia State Patrol is assisting the Braselton Police Department in the investigation.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.

This comment is for Ron. First, I would like to say that I feel the police should be able to pursue anyone who makes the decision to run. The police are charged with protecting and serving the public in which pursuits are part of the arsenal they use. There is no way to say "Ok, you can chase this and this but not this." Alot of people say that traffic offenses should not be pursued, but I can guarantee the person running is not doing so for a simple speeding ticket. I do believe if people are injured they or their families should be compensated but when you tie the hands of the law we as the public are asking for trouble and vigalante justice.

Patricia, I am sorry for your loss. My son was killed in a single car accident four years ago. Wake up everyday missing him. Good luck to you and your family. May God bless.

I'm the grandmother of the victim driving the Dodge Neon. I just want everyone to know who she was...a bright, beautiful young woman with her life ahead of her. She worked full time and went to school. She played by the rules, obeyed the law. If someone can tell me why we have to bury this beautiful young woman instead of one day planing her wedding and make it make sense to us, I'd like to hear it. Chasing these people and taking the lives of innocent people and putting families through this kind of HELL is not worth it. Get close enough to get the tag number and get warrants and go arrest them. We have lost a huge part of us, the void will never fill, the wounds will never heal and we don't know why!
