STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) -- DeKalb County authorities are
investigating the cause of an explosion and fire that damaged
stores at a strip mall early Monday.

No injuries are reported in the fire that began with an
explosion in a building on Memorial Drive about 1:30 a.m.

DeKalb County Fire Department spokesman Captain Eric Jackson
says the fire spread to the storefront businesses in the mall. He
lists the businesses as a hair salon, a dry cleaners, a computer
store, a dentist office and a music store.

The blast at the mall shattered car windows and sent building
insulation into the air.

The businesses were all attached in the shopping center, and the
blaze spread quickly. Firefighters had it contained by 2:20 a.m.

Jackson says people who were in a restaurant at the time managed
to escape.
