Augusta, GA---First it opened free to the public, now the city is looking to make the Augusta Botanical Gardens an off-leash dog park for at least one day a week. City parks and recreation wants to make Sundays from noon to 4 PM playtime for dogs. The Augusta public services committee approved a dog park ordinance Monday. But this is just the beginning and there's a long list of rules. The park had hoped to open to the dogs as early as this weekend. That will not happen. The issue has to go before the full commission next week.

Almost all the off leashed dogs, my cocker spaniel and I've met have been accomodating and apologetic(unnecessary). I feel like the well mannered canine crowd, would be a positive improvement to the Botanical Gardens. A plus is the Morris is free on Sunday , so pass the issue soon , please , & fido won't roast in the car!
