AUGUSTA, Ga.---Danny Craig is getting ready to don the robe.

He'll be sworn in Monday at 9AM in the State Capitol in the Senate Chambers in Atlanta as the newest Superior Court Judge for Richmond, Columbia and Burke Counties. Those judges handle domestic, civil and criminal cases.

Craig was elected District Attorney of the Augusta Judicial Circuit in 1993 and has been re-elected since.

Earlier this year, Governor Sonny Perdue appointed him to the bench. He replaces Judge Neal Dickert, who resigned before his term was up.

The term runs through the end of 2008, and the seat will be on the November 4th ballot.

The Governor will also appoint someone to take Craig's place as District Attorney. That office will also be on the November 2008 ballot.
