JEANETTE HAWES INDICTMENT

From Crimeteam 12, Jeanette Michelle Hawes, who is accused of killing her two young children, has her day in court on Thursday and she is indicted on six charges: two charges of killing them on purpose, two counts of felony murder and two counts for killing them with a knife.

REFINERY FIRE FINALLY OUT

Firefighters can finally take a rest; the fire at the Savannah Sugar Refinery is out. It's now been a week and one day since the refinery exploded. So far, eight people have been killed as a result of the explosion, one of them Michael Kelly Fields on Thursday morning. He was a burn patient at the Burn Center at Doctors Hospital. There is still one worker missing.

SLED CHIEF CONFIRMED

There'll be a new person in charge of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. South Carolina has confirmed US Attorney Reggie Lloyd will be the new head of SLED. He'll start in March.

TEACHER OF THE YEAR

One of the top 10 out of 140 applicants for Georgia Teacher of the Year is from right here in Richmond County. Aletha Snowberger from Davison Fine Arts School is one of the top few. They'll announce the lucky winner at the Georgia Teacher of the Year Banquet in May at the Georgia Aquarium.

HEART FAIR THIS WEEKEND

News 12 wants to give you the chance to get heart healthy, for free. As part of Health Month, University Health Care and News 12 are teaming up to sponsor the event. It will be going on at the Columbia County Library from 10AM to 3PM.

EDUCATION EXPO TODAY

There is an education expo taking place at ASU today from 11AM to 2PM at the Christen-Berry Field House at ASU. Dress to impress. Representatives from more than 60 school systems in GA and SC will be there. Don't forget that resume!
