Valentine's Day is right around the corner and that means many of you will be celebrating love. But lots of people are looking for love.

One way to do that these days is with online dating services, but there are some things to watch out for before looking for love online.

You've all seen the ads on television and on the Internet; online dating services promising to find you the love of your life. They make it sound so easy and fun.

Well, the Better Business Bureau says instead of easy and fun, some online dating sites are turning into big headaches for many people.

The BBB says complaints recently went up for them by 73 percent. Some of the complaints involve not delivering on promises of being able to match people up and negative customer service.

This isn't to say avoid them altogether, but you should be reading the fine print. Free trials are free trials and they will expire and they will be renewed at a cost to you.

And, do your homework; ask for referrals or check with organizations like the Better Business Bureau to see which sites have the best reputations.

Well, it's common sense people! This is a business and it's incombent upon the person do read the fine print. I actually met my husband on Match.com almost 8 years ago. I started with the "free trial" as well and wound up with a 3 month membership I was shocked to find out I had. So, instead of complaining I started looking and low and behold during that first month my husband was an 89% match, we met and have been happily married for 7 years and 4 months! It does work but the chances of meeting someone on your free week or so probably isn't going to happen.
