The Augusta Commission meets today...One item up for consideration is the alcohol license for the 1102 Bar and Grill in the downtown area. A commission committee voted to put the club on probation for 90 days. It's up to the full commission to decide. The commission is also looking at a possible re-zoning to allow a chemical plant to move not far from the Hyde Park area. There's also a proposal for a $1 increase in
the hotel-motel tax to finance improvements in the Laney Walker and
Bethlehem Heritage areas.
