AUGUSTA, Ga.---Near downtown Augusta, a ten-foot diameter piece of Fenwick Street has caved in. It looks like it may have been caused by a broken water main.
It caused a wreck Friday, in which no one was hurt. The hole looked like a puddle, so a motorist drove right into it.
The Public Works Dept. has now closed the Seventh and Fenwick intersection until further notice for repairs to the area. There are detour signs posted in the area of downtown Augusta.
