Edgefield County Fire

A home in Edgefield County has burned in the Merriwether area. It happened on Royal Place off Highway 25. There are no injuries there.

Augusta Drug Bust

There was a drug bust in Augusta, at 2151 A St. Deputies arrested four people and found cocaine, marijuana and guns. They said they hope to make more arrests from this case.

Deke Wants Questions

Augusta Mayor Deke Copenhaver is having a question and answer session Wednesday evening. It will be at Eastview Community Center on Aiken St. at 6 pm. Everyone is invited.

1102 Future

The Commission Public Service Committee talks about improving bus service today. The group also looks at the license of 1102 Bar and Grill
downtown. That comes after the co-owner was arrested for attacking a man outside the business New Year's. The licensing department is recommending probation. The sheriff's office wants suspension or
revocation of the license. The full commission will eventually decide.

Eagles Fly

From high School basketball, Josey boys ran their record to 20 and 2 with a 67 to 62 win over Swainsboro in overtime. Glenn Hills boys won
their 14th straight game, outlasting Washington County, 40 to 37.
The Augusta Lynx won on the road, 8 to 6, over Gwinnett.

Expelled for Kissing

A school in Columbia has expelled a boy and girl for kissing for two minutes on the school bus. The school says the case involves sexual misconduct. Both families are challenging the decision.
