EVANS, Ga---Columbia County investigators are looking for a hit and run suspect after somebody crashed into the Small Wonders Day Care in Evans Monday night.

Tuesday, workers were out cleaning up the mess and trying to make the classrooms safe for the children.

Day care director Kathi Borgner says the vehicle was cream colored with writing on the side. She's hoping the person will come forward.

"You know everybody makes mistakes. However, we're talking almost $30,000 dollars in lost revenue, repairs, and leaving the scene of an accident is something I wouldn't want to see any of our young children do later on, so that person needs to come forward."

Borgner says the day care center will be open for business Wednesday.

If you have any information on this hit and run accident, call the Columbia County Sheriff's office.
