AUGUSTA, Ga.---Augusta State Senator Ed Tarver (D-22) is questioning whether a planned joint meeting involving local legislators and Coliseum Authority members is at a convenient time.

The meeting is now planned for 8 a.m. January 31 in a room at the legislative office building in Atlanta's capitol complex.

Sen Tarver points out the members of the General Assembly will already be in Atlanta then since lawmakers are in session. He said they should be able to attend an 8 a.m. meeting with little difficulty.

In an e-mail received by News 12, Sen. Tarver added, "However, the 8 a.m. meeting time may present more of a challenge to the 12 members of the Coliseum Authority Board. I would not object to a later start time for the meeting to allow the...members more time to drive to Atlanta from Augusta and prevent them from having to drive up the night before. This may allow more members of the Coliseum Authority to participate."

Senator Tarver also sent the e-mail to the rest of the local legislative delegation.
