GRANITEVILLE, S.C.---A Graniteville man has been arrested by Aiken County deputies on nine counts involving sex acts with a minor.
Sheriff Michael Hunt said the incidents go back to 1973.
William "Bucky" Hicks, Jr., 60, of Gregg St. in Graniteville was arrested Wednesday at his home. The sheriff says information on the case was received by electronic mail, then deputies started to investigate these allegations.
Hicks is charged with five counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and four counts of a lewd act on a minor.
Sheriff Hunt said, "Mr. Hicks, over the years, came in contact with young people through his involvement in youth sports. I know there are more victims and ask that they come forward."
Deputies say sexual assaults with a then eleven-year old boy began in 1973 and continued to 1977.
In 2002, Hicks was arrested for another sexual assault on a 15-year-old boy. That case is awaiting prosecution.
