AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A 14-year-old Laney High School student has been charged with arson.
Richmond County Board of Education Public Safety Chief Alphonzo Williams said the boy started a fire in a soap dispenser in the bathroom of the school.
Williams said the fire caused minimal damage, and there were no injuries.
The smoke detector inside the school went off, and the school was evacuated. Williams said no kids were in danger.
The student has been charged with arson in the first degree.
