Fountains a reminder of Augusta's past

News 12 at 11 o'clock, January 21, 2008

AUGUSTA, Ga. --- Sometimes we forget just how much has changed.

Next time you are in Augusta's Municipal building, look at the fountains.

Right there in the hallway there is a silent testament to the way things used to be. The fountains once had signs above them reading "white" and "colored".

It's the kind of thing our kids will only read about in the history books. But there they are.

Reminders of a time when the races were very far apart.
