ALLENDALE CTY, S.C.---Freedom was short for an inmate who escaped from the Estill Federal Correctional Center in South Carolina.
Terry Lowry was serving over four years for a federal cocaine conviction from Georgia when he disappeared Tuesday (January 15).
Authorities think he hid out for several days waiting for a ride from someone he knew.
Saturday, in Allendale County, he was persuaded to get into a truck driven by a man. That man turned out to be an undercover officer, and Lowry is now back in federal custody.
He faces federal escape charges.
