Cornell Tyler sentenced to 55 years in Dorch murder

AIKEN, S.C.---A convicted murderer will spend the next 55 years in prison.

Cornell Tyler will serve 30 years for the murder of Aiken Standard carrier Debra Dorch, 20 years for assault and battery with intent to kill, and 5 years on weapons charges.

Tyler was sentenced last night.

Dorch was killed in 2005 after she was mistaken for a drug dealer while working.

Tyler's first trial ended in a mistrial, but the jury convicted him in the second trial.
