Gold Cross Ambulance responding to a call involved in accident
Richmond County deputies said a gold Toyota Camry pulled over to the side to let the ambulance by, but they say the driver of a silver Chevy Trail Blazer was distracted and hit the back of the Camry. The Camry was then pushed out into the lane and hit by the ambulance.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A Gold Cross Ambulance that was responding to a call was involved in a multi-vehicle accident Friday evening. It happened on Jackson Road near Nassau Drive around 6:55 p.m.

Richmond County deputies said the ambulance was speeding down Jackson Road. A gold Toyota Camry pulled over to the side to let the ambulance by, but they say the driver of a silver Chevy Trail Blazer was distracted and hit the back of the Camry. The Camry was then pushed out into the lane and hit by the ambulance.

Deputies said there were minor injuries.

No word on any charges at this time.
