AUGUSTA, Ga.---It is Sister CEO Week across this area. The Brothers of the Augusta Renaissance are honoring 56 local black businesswomen. News 12 will profile some of those women throughout the week.
Today we spoke with Barbara Gordon, the publisher and CEO of the Metro Courier, an Augusta weekly centered around issues in the black community.
"People have to realize business is business, male or female," she told us of her business philosophy. "The thing that we do bring to the table is a certain sensitivity, and I think that's one of the reasons women businesses have done so well."
The week will close with a meet-and-greet event at the Sultry Sounds Cafe and Lounge on Friday at 7 pm.
