AUGUSTA, GA---Greenbier is looking for a new football coach and athletic director. Scott Chadwick announced today he is stepping down as head football coach.
Chadwick, who had also been the school's athletic director, announced his decision in a email to News 12.
Greenbrier's football team had to forfeit two games this past season for using ineligible players. Greenbier was cited for using the ineligible players and for not having up-to-date physicals for some players.
Late last month the school was fined $1,000 and placed on severe warning status for 2008.
"It has become apparent to me that due to the issues of the past month and other circumstances surrounding the program, that it will be difficult for me to be an effective leader here," Chadwick said in his news release.
Chadwick says he also wants to move closer to family.
