Funeral Arrangements for Slain Toddlers

This morning, the family has set the funeral arrangements for the two Augusta toddlers found stabbed to death. Investigators say their own mother is to blame. Services will be held for Shakayla and Jordan Hawes Wednesday at 1:00 in the chapel of Whole Life ministries on Washington Road.
You can make donations to help the Hawes family pay for the funeral at any Georgia Bank and Trust location.

Martinez UGA Student Visitation Tonight

Friends and family will have to say goodbye today to a UGA student from Martinez. 23-year-old Michael Hendrickson died Saturday at a hospital in Athens after contracting a severe bacterial infection. The Clarke County coroner says the cause of death is neisseria meningitis. Visitation for Michael Hendrickson is tonight at Platt's Funeral Home on Belair Road. The funeral is at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at Marvin United Methodist Church on Wheeler Road.

Lewiston Elementary Update

Things seem to be back to normal at Lewiston Elementary this morning. Only 26 students stayed home from school Monday. That's way down from Friday when 342 students were out. Hundreds of students got sick with a stomach virus. District leaders say it appeared to be a fast spreading norovirus.

Augusta Flights

You might want to consider flying out of Augusta this holiday season. US Air has joined Delta in offering jet service. Each jet can hold 50 passengers, and the flight to Charlotte only takes about 50 minutes. Canadair Regional Jets, the same jets used for flights between Augusta and Atlanta, will be used for the new routes.
