November 19, 2007

LAKE LANIER, Ga.---The water level at Lake Lanier, north of Atlanta, is getting close to its record low.

The lake held steady for awhile, but began dropping yesterday afternoon.

Friday (November 16), the Corps of Engineers began reducing the amount of water from the lake and other reservoirs along the Chattahoochee River.

Lake Lanier is the main drinking water source for Atlanta.
