Shane Massey wins District 25 election

November 15, 2007

After a recount, the vote numbers for South Carolina State Senate District 25 did not change. That means Republican Shane Massey wins the special election over Democrat Bill Clyburn by 138 votes.

Tomorrow the Election Commission will certify the official numbers, and Massey can be sworn in to fill the term left vacant by Tommy Moore's resignation.

Clyburn congratulated Massey on his win and stated he's looking forward to getting some rest and spending time with his family. He will continue serving his term as a state representative for District 82.
