"Sisters Grimm" book mentions local school

November 14, 2007

A local elementary school now has its name sitting on bookstore shelves.

Last year, we told you how Hammond Hill Elementary rolled out the red carpet for visiting best-selling author Michael Buckley. When Buckley visited the campus, he found himself the center of a parade filled with characters out of his "Sisters Grimm" book series.

Now, Buckley's fifth book is out. It's called "Magic and Other Misdemeanors." Nikki Mock's class at Hammond Hill Elementary gets a special mention in the acknowledgments. That's the class that first started reading Buckley's books.

You'll be hearing a lot more about "Sisters Grimm." Buckley recently signed a deal to have his stories made into a movie.
