MARTINEZ, Ga. --- 39 guns were stolen Friday night from Waldens on Bobby Jones Expressway. The owners say this is the second time this has happened.

The burglary happened around 10:30 Friday night (November 2). Columbia County deputies responded to the alarm and found the store covered in broken glass.

"I was more frustrated than I was mad or angry because it's already happened to us before at our old location," Eddie Walden said.

When Eddie Walden arrived at the store he noticed the front door had been shattered. When he walked inside the store, he found a lot of damage and missing firearms.

"I was very disappointed that guns are now on the street in hands that are going to do things that we don't want to happen with them," Les Walden said.

Walden said a piece of concrete was thrown through the front door and you can see where it landed on the tile.

"It shattered into thousands and thousands of pieces. There was glass from the parking lot all the way back here to the back of the store," Walden said.

Walden said the thieves used a hammer to brake into their glass showcases.

"Just gives you a sick feeling in your stomach that people actually do things like this," Walden said.

The stolen weapons include handguns and rifles.

"They took hand guns out of the cases and they actually took a few long guns off the shelf," Walden said.

Both store owners said they have several types of security. From alarm systems, to perimeter fencing with barb wire on top. Walden said they were in the process of installing surveillance cameras.

"Unfortunately, it was not installed in time," Walden said.

"The people that do this kind of thing know exactly what they're doing. I mean they had been in here before. They knew exactly what to do and knew what they were coming after. Nothing else was touched," Walden said.
