Drug bust in Aiken County

October 26, 2007

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.---At least seven people have been arrested in a drug bust in the Currytown Area, at a trailer on Ridge Road and a house on Currytown Lane.

It all started after a routine call in reference to a stolen golf cart. Investigators tell News 12 a deputy arrived at the home in the Currytown area, and seven to eight people dropped guns and ran to hide in the woods.

Two of the at least seven people arrested were taken in as they tried to buy drugs at the Currytown home.

An SUV, a black pickup truck, four ATVs and a dirt bike have all been towed. The black truck had marijuana inside, and the SUV had drug paraphernalia inside. Investigators say the ATVs and dirt bike were stolen.

Seven pit bulls were taken by Animal Control. They are thought to have been used in dogfighting.

Some of the houses are being condemned by Code Enforcement.
