Augusta, Ga. --- Several shots were fired outside of the Hale Tiki, located on the 600 block of Broad Street. It happened Saturday night around midnight. At some point during the party a large fight broke out inside.

"After the fight inside, the people spilled outside and while there were several people outside..a car drove by and fired several rounds," Lt. Scott Peebles said.

One of those bullets hit a 15-year-old girl in the hip. She was treated and released at MCG Hospital. Richmond County Investigators said the gun shots were fired from a car, similar to an older model gray Chevy Caprice.

"From what we know, about three or four rounds were fired," Lt. Peebles said.

Besides the girl being shot, a nearby business was damaged. One of the gun shots shattered a front window at the old commerce building, but the business itself is currently vacant.

"We don't believe at this time that the actual victim who was struck was the intended victim of the suspects," Lt. Peebles said.

Investigators said they believe the suspect may have been shooting at someone else.

"We do expect that this case will lead to an arrest, we're confident in the leads we have so far," Lt. Peebles said.

Investigators said they have a person of interest but are not releasing the name. They are still trying to figure out how the fight started.
