Perdue in Japan

October 16, 2007

Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue is working on bringing more jobs to Georgia, miles away from home. He's in Japan right now for a three-day conference.

Perdue is working to strengthen the state's partnership with Japan, since the country is Georgia's fifth largest trading partner, with more than $1 billion in annual exports.

Gov. Perdue says the state's "talented workforce, outstanding logistics network, great quality of life and strategic location as the gateway to the American South have helped attract 341 Japanese companies to the state."

Today Gov. Perdue announced two major Japanese chemical companies will form a joint venture in Griffin.
