WAGENER, S.C.---A Wagener woman is in jail and an Aiken man is dead after an argument last night. Investigators are charging 40-year-old Sandra Martin with murder.

24-year-old Wayne Corley Jr. was in Wagener to see his girlfriend. She lived at home with her mom Sandra at 622 Seivern Road. That visit turned deadly.

"That boy dying last night should not have happened, should not have happened," says witness John Hicks. John and his wife Belinda were in the Martin's home in Wagener when Corley and Sandra got into an argument. They say Wayne thought his girlfriend, Tiffany Martin, was out seeing another man.

"He was cussing at her. She was hollering at him, and about that time, a knife appeared," said John.

Investigators say Martin wanted Corley out of her house.

"Wayne kept yelling at her and cussing at her. It was horrible," Belinda said.

John tried to get the knife out of Sandra's hands.

"When I pulled her arm, the knife came back and almost got me in the leg."

John says the argument continued in Tiffany's bedroom.

"She said, 'You want me to cut you? I'll cut you if that's what it takes to get you out of my house'," said John.

Investigators say Sandra then stabbed Corley in the neck at least once. But John's version is a little different.

"He grabbed her arm, and the knife, it went down into his neck."

When deputies got to the house, Corley was lying on his back in the hallway next to the bathroom, dead.

"It was horrible," said Belinda.

Sandra Martin is at the Aiken County Detention Center. Corley does have both an extensive history with both the Aiken Co. Sheriff's Office and the Aiken Department of Public Safety. He was accused of larceny by the Sheriff's Office in July. Possibly the most serious charge in Corley's history: assault and battery with the intent to kill.
